This was a quick recording we did so nick could teach me how to mix. It’s unrehearsed so the lyrics are wrong, the chords are wrong, and I lost my voice yesterday so the vocals are shit.

It does prove a few useful things:

The pickup in the guitar sucks (we knew that)

The sm7b is awesome

Logic is confusing as fuck

We may make a musician out of me yet

Based on Ben Howard’s Black Flies.

It was fun to watch Alex go “wow, that really does make a difference”.

This was a throwaway song; we didn’t even cut out the bit of us talking at the beginning, but we quickly agreed that this was our favorite sounding vocal take we’ve ever done. I can’t wait to use his new mic on something we’re gonna keep.
